Private one-on-one developmental coaching
Direct work with Ryan M. Berg
See what pressure is making you protect.
You can know exactly what to do and still lose access to it when the room gets hard.
Private developmental coaching makes that pressure visible—then turns one live professional challenge into a map, a bounded experiment, and a wider range of choice.
$150 / 90 minutes / Zoom / no package required
The premise
The behavior that frustrates you may be the behavior currently protecting something you cannot yet afford to lose.
Development begins when that protection can be examined with honesty, dignity, and evidence. The aim is not to defeat the pattern. It is to understand its intelligence, test its assumptions, and recover more responsible choices when pressure arrives again.
When this work becomes useful
You have reached the edge of an old answer.
Effort is still available. The old way of organizing effort is what has become too small for the role, relationship, or decision in front of you.
The role is bigger than your current way of carrying it.
More visibility, ambiguity, authority, or consequence is exposing a limit effort alone cannot solve.
The same pattern keeps appearing in different rooms.
Overfunctioning, hesitation, conflict avoidance, overcontrol, people-pleasing, or self-doubt keeps returning.
You lose access to what you know when the stakes rise.
The move is obvious in reflection and strangely difficult when identity, credibility, or belonging is on the line.
A consequential decision cannot remain open much longer.
You need to separate the work itself from the pressure reorganizing how you see and respond to it.
A Pressure Map™ preview
What gets narrow when the stakes rise?
Select a protected good. Each one can produce intelligent behavior—and a costly limit. The work helps you see both.
When control is at stake
You step in, tighten the plan, and carry more than the role requires.
Certainty, competence, and protection from preventable failure.
What becomes possible if you set the boundary and let someone else carry the choice?
Delegate one bounded decision and agree on the signal that would trigger a check-in.
Inside the 90 minutes
One challenge. Five movements. Something real to test.
The session stays close to actual work. You leave with a clearer map and a practical experiment—not a cloud of interesting conversation.
- 01
Bring.
Start with one live decision, conflict, transition, behavior, relationship, or professional edge.
- 02
See.
Make visible what you do—and avoid doing—when pressure enters the situation.
- 03
Honor.
Identify the valuable thing the pattern is protecting: competence, safety, loyalty, credibility, or belonging.
- 04
Surface.
Name the premise that makes the current response feel necessary, responsible, or inevitable.
- 05
Test.
Design one ethical experiment that can create evidence and widen the choices available next time.
Insight names the pattern.Evidence changes the relationship to it.
What you leave with
The conversation becomes a working instrument.
You do not leave carrying more advice. You leave with a compact account of what happens under pressure and a test capable of producing new information.
- ✓A completed one-page Pressure Map™
- ✓A clearer definition of the developmental challenge
- ✓The protective logic beneath the recurring pattern
- ✓One bounded workplace experiment
- ✓Signals to watch while the experiment runs
Lead the decision without carrying every part of it.
Step in early. Rework the plan. Resolve ambiguity personally.
Competence, reliability, and protection from preventable failure.
If I do not control the important details, I will own the failure.
Private, developmental, work-anchored
Internal life can be examined without turning work into therapy.
The work is psychologically serious and professionally bounded. It stays anchored to role demands, decisions, relationships, and behavior in the world.
Relevant
Begin with a real role demand, decision, behavior, or professional relationship.
Non-clinical
Coaching does not diagnose or treat mental-health conditions. Clinical needs are respected and referred.
Self-directed
You decide what to examine, what evidence matters, and which experiment you are willing to run.
Dignifying
Recurring behavior is treated as intelligent protection carrying both value and cost.

Practical questions
Before you book.
Is this executive coaching?+
It is private developmental coaching for executives, managers, founders, professionals, and people preparing for larger responsibility. The work can address leadership performance while going deeper into how you interpret pressure and organize action.
Do I need a long-term package?+
No. Begin with one 90-minute session. Some people use a single session to clarify one edge. Others return to examine evidence from an experiment and build the next developmental move.
Is the session confidential?+
Yes, within ordinary ethical and legal limits. When an organization sponsors the work, expectations about goals, privacy, and reporting should be agreed upon before coaching begins.
Is this therapy?+
No. The work stays anchored to professional behavior, role demands, decisions, relationships, and development. It does not diagnose or treat mental-health conditions.
What does the session cost?+
A private 90-minute Zoom session is $150. No package is required. Limited sliding-scale availability can be discussed directly.
What happens after I reach out?+
You will receive a reply to clarify the issue you want to work on and find a Zoom time. Payment and the session link are confirmed before the meeting.
